I’m probably going to get a lot of hate for this but- here’s a bit about me; for the majority of my adult life I have been a licensed clinical therapist working with families, children and adults. In that time I have encountered the devastation sexual abuse of children causes across the life span of the victim and beyond. I have held the hands of 9 year olds while they disclosed the abuse for the first time, sat across from mothers who said “well it happened to me and I survived.” And fathers who said “they’re my girls so I should be the first to breed them.” I’ve testified in court being crossed examined and held the drug addicted as they come to realize it’s time to face their trauma sober and treated the 72 year old with psychosis secondary to sexual abuse beginning before they were even verbal. In light of this I get a bit testy when I’m lumped in to a category of “pedo enabler.” Given I’ve been in the trenches with victims I’ll be damned anyone yelling ...
