1 Corinthians 13 defines the Love function traits—patient listening, kind affirmation; while 1 John 4:19 roots it: We love because He loved us first, obedience flowing from knowing (Jeremiah 9:23-24). Guarding the heart (Proverbs 4:23) keeps the function pure, and belief (Acts 16:31) sustains it. Obedience (showing up, enduring) functioned as love, producing joys song, a small win echoing God’s will. Love isn’t static; it’s a dynamic equation where obedience keys the result: a family transformed, known by love.
