I thought about Cancel Culture the other night while driving.
We know from the Bud Light, Target, and Disney backlash that woke is the minority. But the tail wagged the dog for so many years.
Cancel Culture couldn't have done what it did without institutional power. Employers, industries, and polite society wouldn't have removed normal people because it was good for business. They removed them because they were coerced.
